Please silence all cell phones and electronic devices.
Our monthly six-hour group meditation will take place here next Saturday, Feb. 11, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., beginning with Energization Exercises on the back patio. Devotees may quietly enter or leave the chapel on the hour during periods of devotional chanting.
Our Center's Sunday School/Teen Group Valentine's Day Bake sale will be held here at our Center on Sunday, February 12, following the morning service.
Hidden Valley Ashram Center will host a weekend retreat program for men beginning Friday, Feb. 17, through Sunday, Feb. 19. The theme is "Igniting the Fire of Devotion." Fliers and brochures with details are located on our free literature shelves. You may also contact Hidden Valley directly to make your reservation.
Our monthly day of service will be Saturday, Feb. 18, from 9:30 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. We break at 1 for meditation, followed by a delicious vegetarian lunch. There is a place for all to help out regardless of your skill level.
All are invited to our next Fellowship Brunch and Bazaar on Sunday, March 4 immediately following the regularly scheduled 10 a.m. Sunday service. A menu of roasted poblano chilies, rice & bean salad will be served, along with Mexican hot chocolate, and cookies.
On Wednesday, March 7, a special commemorative service honoring the 70th anniversary of our guru-founder Paramahansa Yogananda's mahasamadhi will be held here from 7-8:30 p.m. Mahasamadhi means "great ecstasy." It is the conscious final exit of a yogi from the physical form. Please bring a flower and a donation in an envelope, symbols of your love and loyalty. Parents may accompany their children in going to the altar at the beginning of the offering portion of the service.
This evening's group meditation will take place from 6-9, beginning with group practice of Energization Exercises on the back patio. Devotees may enter or leave the chapel on the hour, during periods of kirtan chanting.
You also can find these announcements on our back bulletin board.
Our topic this morning is "Living the Spiritual Life in a Material World."
